Pam on the road to London 2012!!
Pamela keeps a clean sheet in Olympic Hockey qualifier
Softball Leinster would like to congratulate Pamela Smithwick from the Kiely Kegs Softball team on making the Irish womens Hockey team for the Olympic qualifiers. Even better, last night playing in Belgium in the Hockey qualifiers, Pamela kept a clean sheet as the Irish team beat Mexico 5 nil.
They have now won their first three games. The Ladies team play top seed Spain at 3:30pm on Thursday and then Belgium. They still face tough competition to qualify but with Pam between the sticks Ireland are in good shape.
This is a fantastic achievement and we all hope to see an Irish Softballer in the Olympics, even if she will be playing Hockey ;).
We would also like to commiserate Stephen Barry from BatPak, who had been working with the mens Hockey team, who were so cruely defeated in the last 2 seconds in their qualifiers final.
