SL Committee

Julie Trundle

Chairperson - Julie Trundle

Currently a member of the BatPak softball team playing in the premier division of the league. Julie has been playing softball for a few years now and this is her fourth season with the Pak. Her regular position is outfield but loves to play first base and catcher positions. She has travelled to some interesting places to play softball, Las Vegas, Florida, Austria, Slovenia and Czech Republic. She also organised the first "indoor" softball tournament in Ireland and there are now two regular indoor tournaments held in Dublin during the offseason.

D'Arcy Donnelly

Treasurer - D'Arcy Donnelly

Currently a member of the All Sinners softball team playing in the lofty heights of Division Two. D’Arcy is entering his fourth year of playing softball in Ireland having started with the Flyers the first year before moving on to the All-Sinners where he is currently co-captain.
D’Arcy is often seen spreading the values of softball by encouraging the contact side of softball through good natured hugging. What he lacks in speed, fielding prowess and a powerful bat he more than makes up for in his enthusiasm and is often heard before seen.

fiona

Secretary - Fiona Lehane

Fiona started playing softball when living in Jersey in 2003 and when she moved back to Ireland, following a chance discussion in the pub ended up joining Marlay in 2007 and has been happily playing with them since then. She currently plays outfield for the second Marlay team. She took up and has stayed with softball because has always found everyone to be friendly and keen to help improve her game (despite many people's efforts, there hasn't been any noticeable improvement since the start!) as well as the very social aspect to the game. Fiona served on Softball Ireland in 2011. She is looking forward to helping develop and promote the game of softball in Leinster given the fun and many friends she has gained from softball over the years.

Jon Barry

Ordinary Member - Jon Barry

Jon has been playing softball since 1996, he started playing with the AIB Loan Homers, and moved to BatPak in 2000. Jon has played in 3 European Championships with the National Team, and one European Cup with BatPak. He has also played with the Irish National Baseball team in Croatia in 2000.
Jon has not sat on any previous committee, and felt that it was time to give something back to the sport that has provided him with so much enjoyment over the last 15 years.

Peter Mullen

Ordinary Member - Peter Mullen

Peter started playing in 1996 with Marlay then joined BatPak in 2005. He played Shortstop for Marlay B and Outfield for BatPak and represented Ireland in Slovenia 2006 at the European Championships. Peter was previously on the Leinster Softball Committee, 10 or so years ago. His best memory of softball in Ireland was the 24hr and the 48hr record attempts. "Great camaraderie and fantastic fun."
Peter plays basketball once a week with players from Oddsox, Dodder, Dublin Bay Packers and Marlay. "10 years ago that kind of thing just wouldn’t have happened" he said! "But times change and I think the heightened interest in the International/European game has improved relationships. Also projects like the schools program from a few years ago really helped our sport grow."
Peter still enjoys "traipsing out to games and training so he’ll be around for a while."

 elainefireball

Ordinary Member - Elaine Prunty

Elaine is a member of the Renegades Softball Club based in Fr. Collins Park, Clongriffin and joined midway through the 2010 season. Elaine assumed the role of Captain for the Renegades newest fourth team, Renegade Titans which was set up in 2011. She is new to the sport, full of positivity and is eager to promote softball in the Leinster region.

 steven trundle

Ordinary Member - Steven Trundle

Steven has played in all divisions in the Leinster League. He started and still plays with Dublin Bay Packers part of the 2Pak softball club. He has had the pleasure of playing softball throughout Ireland, Europe and America, has helped coached the Packers and Ireland but he is just as happy being in the middle of a Park swinging the bat with just a few people. He believes Softball is more than a sport, it is a great social activity and hopes he can help bring the sport to where he believes it should be in Leinster.
