The 2019 Season is HERE!!! – Updated

We are just a few days away until the Softball Leinster 2019 season. The first games are on the 29th of April. Here are some dates and news for you to keep in mind… Please feel free to email us with blitz dates and we’ll add them to this post.

  • SL Team registration ended on the 5th of April and we lost 4 teams this year – SWAT, Springfield, Marlay Mambas and most recently the Temple Bar Hippies.
  • The season starts on the 29th of April. The Castleknock club has offered to play friendlies in the Hippies spot on Monday nights for all interested teams.
  • Don’t forget that there will be at least two teams automatically relegated from 1st division this year.

Remember SL early registration fee is only €150. Teams must pay their entire fees, including any field fees by the 24th of May. If teams do not pay before the 24th of May they will have to pay the full fee of  €175 for the season.

Also, remember that this year Softball Ireland will be collecting €350 per team at the start of the season rather than €25 per player.

The fees for DCC fields in both Stannaway park and St. Anne’s park will be €100 per team for the year.

Dates to note:

  • The Brian Walshe Cup SOS Blitz be this Saturday, the 27th of April. This is in support of the Irish Coed National Team and  – details about that event can be found on their Facebook page here
  • The Softball Leinster 2019 season will start on the 29th of April. We are going to try and schedule 15 weeks of games depending on how many teams we have returning from each division. Please let us know if you are having difficulties getting your team together, SL are here to help
  • Women’s Euro Fast Pitch Championship is on the week of the 20th of June through the 6th of July
  • Coed Slowpitch Euro Championship is on the week of the 15th of July through the 20th of July
  • Castleknock Mellon Charity Blitz will be on the 22nd of May
  • Suspects Pink Blitz is the 8th of June
  • Kegs Blitz will be the 22nd of June celebrating 25 years!!
  • Renegades 4th of July Blitz will be on 6th of July
  • Castleknock Blitz is on the 20th of July
  • IOST is the 3rd and 4th of August in UL
